Reflective #Selfie

It has been an intensive two days with much learnt that hopefully I can put into practical use in the my work and personal life. I learnt to look much more closely at the various forms of mobile and online markerting that we are bombarded with on a daily basis, to figure out what works and what doesn't from the view-point of the seller/business/organization and the buyer/customer/viewer, and most importantly why.

Before and After

Before #EXSM5513

After #EXSM5513

My reflections

  1. Great group of classmates who share their online marketing experiences
  2. Pressure blogging - a great tactic to overcome writer's block
  3. Marketers are finding new ways to intrude into our personal spaces - inbox ads and text messaging
  4. Tips for effective email marketing
  5. New tools to aid research (keywordspy.com) and presentation (Pinterest)
  6. Design matters

Selfie day 2

I appreciated all the practical tips and best practices, especially on effective email campaigns. I can start applying this knowledge at my work immediately. Reviewing other companies' emails will help me to take a more critical look at the emails that I am sending. Thank you Jess!

Selfie Again

WOW! The last two days have been really intense and nerve-wracking! I haven't been a student for quite some time and have never blogged before so I've had a few stumbling blocks to overcome. However, I have learnt so very much and I have enjoyed and benefited from my fellow students' points of view and experience. I have also enjoyed the energy in class.

I am most looking forward to being able to put all the new knowledge into practice!

Jess, thanks for all of your patience, I truly appreciate it!

Selfie with a Typo?

Continues...

Learned quite a bit about E-Commerce, email and mobile marketing tips and tricks. It changes my perspective on email marketing especially with the email blast that arrive at my inbox; are they trying to capture my attention to do certain things? or are they just spamming me randomly?

Anyway. time to put them to use though...big assignment coming up!!!

Reflective Selfie

Great two days in class.  I find that I leave with a mixture of emotions.  I feel empowered with all the new knowledge I have acquired yet exhausted with the thoughts of all I still need to learn.
Thanks everyone!

Final Selfie!

It's been two short days and I've learned a lot! Many of the concepts that we've covered are things that I plan to implement in my work, such as sending out emails at certain times on certain days.

I'm more confident on my skill set around social media thanks to this class!

A learning Selfie

What did I learn

We are annoyed by the constant bombardment of random non-specific email marketing landing in our inbox. When we do open the email up we expect it to be clear in its message with a CTA in an obvious location.  I also found that we have come to rely on our mobile marketing devices much more than we realize.  They are a way we communicate, receive information and make purchases.

Eifles = Selfie

Well, as class #EXSM5513 comes to a face-to-face end I would like to thank all of you for your insights and class discussion. The tips and tricks learned as well as all the thoughts of others was greatly appreciated.

Not only do I feel like I have learned a lot, I also feel far more confident in approaching marketing via social media. Thanks for a great two days of learning! 3155MSXE#

WOW! The blog impaired is now blogging.

From our face-to-face sessions I would like:

 - To become more comfortable with the blogging aspect. This is my first experience with blogging and I am a little hesitant and confused.

- I want to learn how be able use Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. more effectively and to reach a larger audience.

- Learn how to design a more effective web-site, which will include an adaptive feature for true on-line and moblie marketing.

Over the next two days I'd like to gain a better understanding of the types of online marketing that would be applicable to my role within the government.  Specifically for:
  • generating awareness of services and programs; and
  • directing traffic to service websites.
I'd also like to gain a better understanding of what styles of online marketing are most effective depending on campaign objective, and how to monitor results.

Selfie introduction

For me I think that I would like to increase my manoeuvrability in blogger.  I am hoping that every time we have an activity I don't need to ask for help.  I would like to increase my vocabulary in terms of e-commerce and and be able to hold conversations on the subject.  Curious to know good websites to use for e-commerce in your business.

I would like to get the following out of our face-to-face session:

  1. Better idea how to integrate social media marketing and e-commerce into a work setting, and connect with viewers/audience/buyers, especially via email marketing, social media marketing, mobile marketing, and affiliate marketing. How to change viewers/audience/potential buyers into active participants (via click/views/purchases etc.)
  2. Create inviting, user-friendly and productive website, and how to use it in relation to web marketing.
  3. Be able to create a professional e-marketing campaign (from start to finish).

Selfie like a BOSS

What I want out of the #EXSM5513 class are some additional insights, tips and tricks , tools for E-Commerce and Movile Marketing. Perhaps something practical that I can apply right the way with my current position.
